๐ŸŽ‡ Create/Modify/Duplicate a space

There are two types of participatory spaces: Processes and assemblies. The assemblies are very similar to the Processes. The only difference is that they are not constrained by steps or dates. A Process is always limited in time. Thus, the use of one or the other of the spaces is relevant in some cases.

The use of assemblies is particularly relevant in several cases:

  • Substantive debates that are not subject to a time agenda.
  • Forums or other ephemeral events for which the creation of milestones is not relevant given the short duration of the debate.
  • Idea boxes/problem boxes that are open to participation on an ongoing basis and allow for the ideas and observations of citizens to be taken up over time.
  • Spaces dedicated to specific bodies, whether they are information groups or bodies that meet physically (examples: neighbourhood councils, a assembly for young people, the office of an association, etc.).

To create a participative space, you must go to the "Administrators Dashboard". In the vertical menu on the left, you click on "Processes" or "assemblies" depending on the desired space. You access the Processes or assemblies management page.

  1. To discover the Groups of Processes, please refer to the article dedicated to the space Process. You can also link assemblies and create subassemblies.ย
  2. Click on the "New Process" or "New assembly" button to create a space. You will then access the space configuration page.
  3. To modify an existing space, you can either click on the title of the space to be modified or click on the "Pencil" icon in the right column. This will take you back to the space configuration page.
  4. To duplicate an existing Process or assembly , click on the "Diskette" icon in the right column. The space that has just been created is then duplicated identically with the configuration of the original space (part "Information"). Change the title and the identifier so as not to confuse the original and the copy. You can also choose to copy steps, categories and/or features (see capture below). โš ๏ธ No user contribution is included in the duplicated features. Duplicating participatory processes can be interesting if the processes put in place are relatively generic (e.g. a participatory budget specific to each neighbourhood or residence). It will then be necessary to create generic configuration models that can be duplicated at will.ย

Finally, to visualize a space being edited or already published, click on the "Eye" icon in the right column.
