🔑 Authorizations and verifications

Audits

Audits allow users of the platform to be asked to add a level of verification to their account after submitting certain documents (which differ depending on the verification method chosen).

To manage verifications, go to the "Users" tab in the menu on the left, then click on "Verifications" in the sub-menu. You will then see the three verification methods available on Decidim :

  1. Identity documents: users must upload an identity document, which you then enter manually in Decidim.
  2. The code by postal letter: allows users to have their address verified by the administrators by sending a code to their home address.
  3. Organization census: allows administrators to download a file listing the emails of participants they wish to have checked (e.g. members of an institution, etc.).

Depending on the verification choice(s) you wish to make, click on the name of the desired verification method to access the user verification management area. For example, click on "Identity documentsThe "Next page" button will take you to the next page:

To configure this verification method, click "Config". You will then be presented with a new window that allows you to configure the verification of identity documents.

On this window, you can choose the verification mode(s) (Online and/or offline), and inform users who would like to have their account verified offline using the "" field.Instructions for offline verification". The online verification mode allows the collection of scanned copies of identity documents directly on the platform. The offline verification mode requires the user to send a copy of his or her identity document, which must then be manually validated by the administrators.

Authorizations

In terms of functionalities

When you create new features, permissions allow you to ask users to provide identity verification to perform certain actions on the feature. However, action permissions are not available on Track Progress, News, Prize, and Pages features because they do not directly collect user participation. Authorizations can be configured in the feature management menu of your space by clicking on the "Authorizations" icon.

For each feature for which you want to set specific authorizations, you will be offered several possibilities. If no verification mode is offered to you, please contact us so that we can activate the action permissions on your platform.

For example, when setting the permissions for a Proposals module, the window that opens allows you to choose the permissions for each user action category:

By setting up the authorisations in the Proposals module as in the screenshot above, the user wishing to vote for a proposal will have to have his identity documents checked. If they wish to create a proposal, they will also need to complete the verification form.

In terms of contributions

In the settings for Dating, Proposals and Budgets, you can check the box"Action permissions can be set for each meeting/proposal". Similarly, when this option is enabled, you can select actions related to proposals or meetings that require additional user verification. For example, for the Proposal titled "Successful Proposal", you can define the different checks required to perform different actions:

Manually validate a user

To check the documents provided by users, go to the "Users" tab in the left-hand menu, then to "Verifications". Select the chosen verification method to access the verification management window.

In this window, you can manually verify users by clicking on the scanned copy of the document or the verification ID. Then copy the document number (ID card, passport or residence or resident card) and click on "Verify".
