🛠Configure a type of Initiatives
Initiatives differs from other participation spaces by being participatory tools or mechanisms directly initiated by citizens. In other words, the Initiatives are mechanisms to promote semi-direct democracy, through which citizens can support certain actions of common interest to the authorities by collecting a defined number of signatures.
The institution must first activate the entry of Initiatives and offer the necessary technical and practical support to the citizens concerned. The role of the platform administrator is then significantly different than in other participatory spaces. To begin with, you must configure the type of Initiatives that the citizen can deposit according to the rules in force in your community, specifying the number of signatures required.
In order to guide you through the configuration ofPetitions, we will show you how to configure a type of Initiatives. To create a type of Initiatives , you must go to the"Petitions" tab. This will take you to the Initiatives management page. In the sub-menu, go to"Types of Initiatives". Click on"New type of Initiatives".Â
You then arrive on the page of parameter setting of a type of Initiative :Â

You must fill and/or check the following fields:
- Title* : The title of your type of Initiative (questions to the government, Initiative citizen, ...)

To finalize the creation of the Initiatives type, click on " Create". You must then configure the scope(s) of application of your type of Initiatives at the bottom of the configuration page.Â

Pressing " New scope of application" takes you to the type scope of application configuration page of Initiatives :Â

Here you can choose to associate a minimum number of votes to a geographical space. The available application perimeters correspond to the areas previously set up in the "Settings" tab.Â
Please note that the number of signatures required must be greater than zero.Â
Once your application perimeters have been set up, click on "Update".
When creating a Initiative, the user will have to choose in which type of Initiatives it registers. Then, he will have to select one of the application perimeters that have been set in the configuration of the type of Initiatives selected. Thus, the success of the Initiative is subject to the number of signatures set for each application perimeter.
